I've struggled to find a TV drama to watch that's as fun and salacious as the early days of Desperate Housewives, so when Lifetime invited me to attend their Devious Maids premiere party last night in beautiful Pacific Palisades, Calif. I was super intrigued. Flip through the pics to find out all about my glam night and the show that might finally fill my DH void.
Held at the swank Bel-Air Bay Club, which has the most gorgeous, sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean I've ever seen, I knew I was in the right place when, upon walking in, I saw a giant portrait of Susan Lucci on the mantel. The soap icon plays Genevieve Delacourt, one of the wealthy women who lords over the maids.
Walking around the party I found myself bombarded with familiar TV faces—this cast is chock full of some favorites! As a lover of all things '90210' and 'Melrose Place', I was thrilled to see Grant Show on the red carpet. Other notable men on the series include Tom Irwin (who played Claire Danes' dad on 'My So-Called Life) and Stephen Collins (Reverend Camden on '7th Heaven').
Series star Dania Ramirez got into the spirit of things by bringing her very own maid to keep her fresh and fabulous on the red carpet.
Roselyn Sanchez was the first on the dance floor when a salsa band took the stage. This girl has some moves (and a body that is inspiring me to spend the rest of my life at the gym).
If 'Devious Maids' has a 'Desperate Housewives' feel, it's with good reason. Eva Longoria and 'DH' mastermind Marc Cherry serve as executive producers. It was a lot of fun watching Eva celebrate with her cast.
Inside the bash, revelers were treated to a sweets bar featuring all red candy (think red M&Ms, swedish fish, red gummy bears, strawberry licorice and the like) and ice cream sandwiches made of homemade pop tars and chocolate chip cookies. So yum!
This cast and crew really does seem to like each other, with most of the stars partying well into the evening instead of just dropping in for a quick red carpet photo op.
The party also had a fun, "skinny" bar with cocktails like the Size 2 Cosmo so that everyone could celebrate and keep their trim figures. Napkins were printed with handwritten scribbles alluding to scandals on the show.
Catch 'Devious Maids' when it premieres on Lifetime this Sunday, June 23 at 10 PM.
