Miranda Lambert leaves her Oklahoma farm to hit the road on her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars tour beginning March 18, but for now she’s relishing life at her ranch complete with two pigs, two donkeys, three mini-horses, three regular horses, four goats, two dogs, three cats, a “bunch” of cows and chickens.
The two-time ACM winner, 26, woos fellow country singer boyfriend Blake Shelton, 33, with her culinary skills.
“He loves my hamburger steak with cream of mushroom gravy,” she tells me. “He’s a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy. I cook Southern – not necessarily healthy – so when I do cook, it’s usually with a lot of butter, so my hamburger steak is one-of-a-kind. I made it up myself. I think that’s why he likes it.”
When she’s looking for a snack, Miranda turns to cheesy chips.
“I love Cheetos, but I try not to eat those, so I usually go with a 100-calorie pack of Cheetos, which aren’t near as good,” she laughs. “Every time – if I’ve ever had a fight with a boyfriend or anything – they always bring me Cheetos to make up..[laughs] It’s just the way to my heart.”
Stylewise, Miranda impresses Blake by putting on a jean skirt and boots.
“That’s the way to his heart,” she says.
And what does he wear for her?
“Well, I learned I’d better like plaid, because that’s what he’s gonna wear – plaid shirts, Wranglers and boots. That’s what I like him in. You always know it’s him. He’s definitely who he is in his style, and doesn’t care if people like it.”
