Tiffani Thiessen dons a curious short-sleeved winter coat to Thomas Pink’s White Collar Shirt Bar event held today in NYC.

“It’s a little cold,” she says, blue eyes sparkling.

Keeping warm is important for the woman whose USA Network FBI series White Collar premieres tonight.

For Tiffani, 35, who hit the big time in 1989 with Saved By The Bell, staying focused on the task at hand is key. After all, she's been acting for 26 years. Of her face, she yuks, “It’s a lot older.”

Unlike her former co-stars, the California girl nixes plans to make a cameo on 90210 or even write a book a la Dustin Diamond.

“I’m busy working on the show White Collar,” she tells me. “I never really like to look behind. I like to move forward.”

Still, she stays friendly with former 90210 star Jason Priestley.

Jason’s really the only one I keep in touch with,” she says. “I see him quite often. He actually just moved back to Canada for five months where he’s doing a new show for HBO Canada. We spent a lot of time together. Him, and his wife and his two kids. Beautiful two kids.”

Starting a family is something she and her husband Brady Smith, 37, hope to do soon.

“Oh yeah, we’re definitely there,” she tells me. “I mean, we’ve been married for 4 ½ years, so it’s definitely in the plan. We’ve just got to figure out timewise, with working and all that.”

When the time is right, her kids should have impeccable manners. Noting that she can’t stand when people chew with their mouths open, she rattles off other pet peeves that should be made illegal.

“I can’t stand when people don’t use their forks and utensils properly,” she says. “They hold them like they’re barbaric. It’s awful. I can’t stand that. Those are two pet peeves of mine. Chewing gum really loud. Spitting. That’s another one. Can’t stand that. Picking your nose in public – don’t like that.”

Eww, yuck. But her biggest crime is fairly tame.

“I think the biggest crime I’ve ever done is lie,” she says. “I think lying is the worst. But a white lie every now and then, you kind of have to. I’ve lied about doing things when I know I’m not just because I want to get out of something. cackles I’ve done that, you know? That’s probably the most recent one – last week.”

Why should we watch White Collar?

“You actually see the husband and wife have a good relationship,” she says. “They’ve been married for ten years. There’s no drama, there’s no triangle between characters. It’s a nice relationship between the people, which is nice for me. I play the voice of reason. Women tend to have that kind of role in life, right?”

White Collar airs Fridays at 10/9C.

Check out Tiffani's cute coat. Love it!
