In front of an American flag, Lady Gaga addresses her “fellow Americans” in a lengthy statement to the Senate. Gaga asks for a repeal to the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, which stops gays from serving openly in the military.

“It is my belief that no one person is more valuable than another,” Lady Gaga says and urges her fans to contact their senators, singling out Senator John McCain for trying to stop a vote from taking place.

“Our fight is a continuum of the ever-present equal rights movement,” Gaga states in the long speech, which lasted more than seven minutes.

Lady Gaga has been getting increasingly involved with politics, as evident in her VMA acceptance speeches, and we bet we’ll be seeing even more of it.
