The trailer for Johnny Depp’s new movie The Rum Diary has landed and it’s full of twists, turns and romance, showing the actor in all states of dress and disarray!
Johnny plays Paul Kemp, a freelance journalist who finds himself at a crossroads in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the late 1950s.
The film is based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson and is a semi-fictional story about the writer’s time in Puerto Rico as a young journalist. The Rum Diary was written in 1958 but went unpublished until 1998.
“Now all of this may look like some crazed hallucination,” Johnny Depp, as Hunter S. Thompson’s character Paul Kemp, says, “but it’s all true… I think.”
The flick also stars Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Giovanni Ribisi and Richard Jenkins, and hits theaters October 28.
