Joan Rivers has been in comedy for more than 50 years, and with the release of her 12th book, Diary of a Mad Diva, she's showing no signs of slowing down! We caught up with the sharp-tongued comedian to chat about fashion, celebs, and her time in showbiz.

OK!: How did the idea for your new book come about?

Joan Rivers: My editor wanted me to keep a daily diary, but no one is interested in “Good morning, today I walked the dog.” So I decided to write about the things that annoy me that day, and it’s causing some hysteria—Kristen Stewart is threatening to sue me!

OK!: Does it surprise you that people still take you so seriously?

JR: Yes, all the time! If I go out with new people and over the course of the evening I have to say, “No, no, that’s a joke,” more than twice, I know I’ll never see them again because they’re not my kind of people.

OK!: Who are some of the current folks in comedy that you admire?

JR: Oh, I worship Louis C.K. and Nick Kroll. There are so many good ones out there! It’s a pity late-night TV is too crowded to watch everyone.

OK!: What was it like returning to The Tonight Show after your long ban?

JR: Oh, it was amazing! Jimmy Fallon is such a gem. The minute he was given the okay he called me to come on. I was so glad because everybody knows the stupidity of me being banned by that *sshole Jay Leno for 20-odd years. It was insane.

OK!: How do you like today’s red carpet coverage?

JR: It’s so boring! The reporters are scared to ask anything juicy and the stars are no fun. Everyone plays it safe. That’s why I don’t cover events anymore and why

we invented Fashion Police, so we could be up front and say the truth.

PHOTOS: See Kim Kardashian's most naked Instagram pics.

OK!: What outfits do you hate to see?

JR: What upsets me is the message that some actresses are sending to young girls, which is, “Bare your breasts, don’t wear underwear.” When you’re a role model, you’ve got to play along. That’s the game.

OK!: Whose style do you admire?

JR: Well, I do have to give it to Rihanna. She’s the Audrey Hepburn of this generation and can make anything look amazing. Oh, and Victoria Beckham is flawless.

OK!: Looking back on your life, do you have any regrets?

JR: Every day there’s a regret, but I don’t dwell on the past. I know this sounds corny, but in real life, I try to be as nice as I can be. As I'm getting older I'm getting crankier, but I try to live up to that and that's all I can do.

OK! News: Find out why Beyonce and Jay Z are distancing themselves from Kimye.

OK!: What's one question you wish more people would ask you?

JR: "Why are you so damn beautiful? It doesn't show on television! My god, I never saw that tight of a body!" They never ask me that question.
