She Said Yes! Actress Lily Collins Is Engaged To Director Charlie McDowell

Congrats! Lily Collins announced she is engaged to Charlie McDowell on Friday, September 25. 

"I’ve been waiting my lifetime for you and I can’t wait to spend our lifetime together," the 31-year-old actress captioned three photos of the proposal on Instagram.

In the first snapshot, the couple cuddled up to one another while kissing. In the second picture, the director, 37, was photographed getting down on one knee as the brunette beauty smiled from ear-to-ear. 

Of course, Collins' celebrity pals couldn’t help but gush over the exciting milestone. Ashley Tisdale wrote, "Congrats!!!!," while singer Ciara added, "Soooo happy for you! Love you Li Li boo! What a special day ?❤️???." Amanda Seyfried commented, "YES YES YES!!! Congratulations BOTH OF YOU @charliemcdowell @lilyjcollins."

The model also shared a snap of herself showing off her new bling with the mountains in the background. "The purest joy I’ve ever felt," she wrote.

For his part, McDowell — who is the son of Hollywood star Mary Steenburgen and actor Malcom McDowell — also posted a photo of his new fiancée smiling and flashing her stunning and unique ring. "In a time of uncertainty and darkness you have illuminated my life. I will forever cherish my adventure with you. ??" he captioned the post.

In 2019, rumors swirled that Collins and McDowell were an item after they were spotted in Los Angeles together. Collins and McDowell went Instagram official in August 2019. "Always got your back," the U.K. native uploaded a photo of the two of them in Paris at the time. 

Clearly, Collins — who is the daughter of musician Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman — and McDowell can relate to having famous parents. In fact, the Love, Rosie starlet admitted her mama has influenced her love life.

"I find that I’m really attracted to mysterious creatives, and I love people that are able to put their emotions out there for not just the world to see, but just that are giving of their emotions, but a little bit mysterious and elusive as well," she said during an episode of The Talk in 2017. "And my mom is such a strong independent strong-willed woman and she always taught me to accept my worth for how I viewed myself and female empowerment, and it’s OK to be independent and also need someone at the same time. I kinda get to be both."
