5 Things You Didn't Know About The Wolf of Wall Street
It's less than one week until Oscars night, but if you're not all caught up on all of this year's nominees and don't have time to cram, don't worry. OKMagazine.com will be telling you everything there is to know about this year's top contenders in the film and acting categories from now until the big night on March 2. To kick things off, here's 5 things you may not have already known about the 2014 Best Picture-nominated film The Wolf of Wall Street and its stars Jonah Hill, Leonardo DiCaprio and more.
1. Jonah Hill only got paid $60,000 to play the role of Donnie Azoff. Jonah wanted to work with director Martin Scorcese so badly that he took the minumum amount of money offered to actors by SAG, which is $60k. But it paid off (get it?), because Jonah got an Oscar nom for the movie!
2. Speaking of Jonah Hill, those pearly whites he had to wear for the role weren't as pretty as they look. To get rid of the lisp the teeth gave him, Jonah called up tons of random businesses on the phone to help him practice talking with them and get over the speech impediment.

3. You know that amazing scene where Matthew McConaughey's character introduces Leonardo DiCaprio's to Wall Street? That chant is an actual ritual that Matthew does before shooting a scene. When Leo found that out, he insisted that it be included in the movie.
4. The Quaalude scene—the one where Leo's character Jordan is reacting to overdosing on expired lemmon pills—was the most difficult one for Leo. One, he had to go to chiropractor afterwards due to all those unnatural jerky movements he had to make. And two, he told Ellen Degeneres that it took 70 takes in order to get the ham that he took out of Jonah Hill's mouth to stay on his face. And here's a behind the scenes secret—they used KY jelly to get the meat to stay there!
