'American Idol' Recap: Shocking Elimination of Skylar Laine! Will Phillip Phillips Win?
May 4 2012, Published 2:25 p.m. ET
Another American Idol results show and another shocking elimination. We were already shocked two weeks ago when Colton Dixon was eliminated so early, now comes to same reaction for country sweetie Skylar Laine!
When Ryan Seacrest started dishing out the results last night, Joshua Ledet was the first one declared safe. No surprises there as Joshua received yet another standing ovation this week. Then it was time for Phillip Phillips and Hollie Cavanagh to get their news. We thought it would be Phillip that would find a seat in the bottom 2. But that was not the case, Hollie was once again in the bottom.
But who would join her there? Jessica Sanchez or Skylar? We really thought it would have been Jessica since Skylar has been rocking that stage. But this was a night of surprises and Skylar was in the bottom 2! Come on, America!
Skylar was sadly the one to go home and we still can't believe it. But no worries for Skylar, we bet Nashville is already scrambling to sign her.

Speaking of Nashville, season 4 winner Carrie Underwood returned to sing "Blown Away" and was stunning in a flowing white dress. We were also treated to not one, but two, fabulous performances from Coldplay!

What we want to know is what is going on with Phillip. He has never been in the bottom ever. Is there anyway that he won't win? But at the same time, he looks paler and paler every week. This boy needs some rest. It doesn't look like he will be getting any anytime soon.
Are you bummed that Skylar is gone? Watch the final four perform on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. Less than three weeks until the big finale! Who do you think will win?
