For the first three season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards shiny brunette strands reigned supreme. This year newcomer Joyce Giraud de Ohoven gives Kyle's mane a run for its money with seriously voluminous, stunning hair. Joyce tells OK! how she achieves her va-va-voom 'do and whether or not there are any parallels between Housewives and the pageant world (she was the second runner-up in the Miss Universe Pageant).

OK!: You have amazing hair—what’s your secret?
Joyce Giraud de Ohoven: I wash my hair once a week. You can do that. I swear. My sister-in-law and all of my friends were like, “I can’t do that. It sounds gross.” Once you train your hair it will do whatever you want it to do. And on day seven when it’s too oily you just put it in a ponytail. And I have a secret potion but I can’t tell you what it is. It’s a little mix my grandma used to make us and I use it twice a month. It’s like a masque.

OK!: Did any of the wives give you advice on how to deal with the inevitable drama that occurs within this group?
JGO: Nobody gave me advice on the drama. I thought I wouldn’t need it considering I’ve done pagaents before but I did need advice because this was more catty and bitchy than any pageant I’ve ever done. I would’ve loved to have advice beforehand.
OK!: Are there any similarities between the two worlds?
JGO: In pageants you do see a lot of the cattiness and a lot of the competition but here it was extended to a whole new level.

OK!: Tell us about your non-profit?
JGO: I do an international beauty pageant called Queen of the Universe for UNESCO and what we do is we build kindegartens around the world. My mother-in-law has built over 400 schools around the world in places that don’t have access to education so for me personally this was one of the main reasons why I joined the show because I think this show is an amazing platform for whatever it is you want to do. Some girls use it for their books, some girls use it for their stores, their restaurants, whatever it is they want to promote and I really want to promote my pageant and continue it in my mother-in-law’s legacy.
