Despite reports that Kris Humphries was representing himself in the divorce case from Kim Kardashian, the basketballer has hired an attorney.

According to the NY Post, Kris will file papers next week to appoint Los Angeles based attorney Marshall Waller to his services. Kris' rep adds that his Minnesota-based attorney, Lee Hutton, will advise Waller during the case, but cannot represent Kris because he's not legally eligible to work in California.

As for the reports that Kris would be representing himself, his rep says it was "something someone cooked up for some drama."
