Meghan Markle's fondness for the name Archie is not going away. In fact, she had a special message for a contestant on America’s Got Talent who shares the same moniker as her one-year-old son.
On the NBC show's finale, Prince Harry's wife, 39, gave a shout-out to the singer named Archie Williams and said that she was cheering for him every week.

"A very special message to you that I will probably be saying all of my life — but on this night it is specifically for you," said the Duchess of Sussex. "Archie, we are proud of you, and we are rooting for you, and we can’t wait to see what you do. We're in your corner."
The America's Got Talent contestant has had quite the journey. He served 30 years in prison after he was wrongly convicted of a crime. "I knew I was innocent, I didn’t commit a crime, but being a poor Black kid, I didn’t have the economic ability to fight the state of Louisiana,” he explained.

The charges labeled on Archie included raping and stabbing a 30-year-old white woman; DNA evidence in the case helped him get out of prison.
Williams performed the song ‘Blackbird’ by The Beatles, ‘Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me’ by Elton John and ‘Love’s In Need of Love Today’ by Stevie Wonder on the show.
The AGT appearance comes after Harry and Meghan announced a career change and $150M production deal with Netflix. The couple explained that they will be “creating content that informs but also gives hope” and inspires new generations with “impactful content that unlocks action." As OK! previously reported, Meghan and Harry are hoping their new multi-million deal will help them rebrand themselves to make it as Hollywood stars.
“It was too tempting to resist,” a source told UsWeekly of the opportunity, adding that the couple is hoping this new endeavor will be a “way of rebuilding their reputation,” since leaving the royal family in March.
