You want to know who's not LOLing? Miley Cyrus.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Miley's modern teen romance movie — about dating in the age of social media — has been pretty much brushed aside by its studio, Lionsgate.

"I really thought this movie could be universal," filmmaker Lisa Azuelos told the Los Angeles Times. "Usually teen movies are tender or scary or have vampires in them, but they're never realistic. This story isn't too dirty and not too stupid."
LOL is an English adaptation of a French film by the same name, and centers on Miley's character, Lola. It also stars Demi Moore as Lola's mother and Ashley Greene.
"They couldn't take care of my movie until after Hunger Games, and I waited in line," Azuelos said.

Lionsgate finally gave LOL a release date: May 4. If that sounds familiar, it's because it is the same day The Avengers debuts, which it is expected to do the tune of $100 million. There has been no formal announcement about the release date of LOL from Lionsgate.

Today, Miley reTweeted a link to the movie's trailer, and on April 16, she thanked her fans for promoting LOL (presumably because Lionsgate has decided not to do so).
