"I had the surgery about five weeks ago," Sarah explained in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "I’ve had kidney dysplasia since I was about 8 or 9 years old, so I always knew this was going to happen, it was just... timing."
Sarah's father donated his kidney to his ailing daughter, something Sarah will never forget, telling Seventeen last month, "I have a second chance at life; not a lot of people get that."
As for how she's feeling today, Sarah, 21, looked great on Ellen and even talked about being No. 50 on Maxim magazine's Hot 100 list.
Someone she has to thank for feeling so wonderful is her boyfriend Matt Prokop, who's been caring for her ever since the surgery.

"He’s been great," Sarah gushed of Matt, with whom she lives. "Cleaning everything and taking care of me and going to the doctor's and stuff. It's been wonderful because you can get sick very easily and you don’t want a chance of rejection of the kidney, so no bacteria anywhere."
Right now, Sarah is looking forward to heading back to the set of Modern Family.
"I can't wait to go back to shoot season four in August," the actress told Ellen.
We're glad she's okay!
