Welcome to New Tunes Tues, where we tell you what newly released songs/albums/music videos etc require your attention immediately. This week, Austin Mahone takes a stab at R&B, One Republic gets the movie soundtrack treatment and more! Let's get listening:
Austin Mahone, "Say My Name." Drake? Chris Brown? Ne-Yo? Austin's got a little bit of all of the above in his new R&B ballad. And yes, he stole the title from a Destiny's Child song but it actually sounds nothing like that one. Take a listen:
Sam Smith, "I'm Not The Only One." The fourth single from Sam's debut album, In The Lonely Hour, that people literally cannot stop talking about, is amazing. Trust us on this one. Finally, an excuse to get "Stay With Me" out of our heads.
Jesse McCartney, "The Other Guy." Jesse's fifth album, In Technicolor, is out today, and it features this new song, a sexy ballad about what it's like to be in a sucky love triangle. Been there, done that, bro.
One Republic, "Ordinary Human." Alas, we hear a song from The Giver soundtrack! Ryan Tedder and pals released the lyric video to this new tune, which they wrote specifically for the film. The rest of the soundtrack comes out August 5th, but we're good with playing this track on repeat in the meantime:
Wiz Khalifa ft. Juicy J and Ty Dolla $ign, "Shell Shocked." And in other movie soundtrack news, these guys recorded a song for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack and made a music video for it, too. All three rappers have admitted to being fans of the franchise as kids, and now here they are, writing a rap about turtle shells for the movie! Full circle:
