Omarion's been really candid with us in each installment of our Officially Omarion column so far, where we've previously discussed his life in general and his feelings about becoming a first-time father. But Omarion has never been more candid than he is on his upcoming solo record, Sex Playlist, which drops this summer.

OK! Exclusive: Omarion Talks About Becoming a First-Time Dad

This album definitely has pieces of what's been going on in my life. The album’s called Sex Playlist, but I don't want people to hear the title and not allow me to elaborate on the importance of getting in the mood and having a sex playlist. I feel like sex is the introduction and the prelude to love and then into conception. That’s what the album is. It's progressiveness of sound and emotion and feelings and it's making it to its highest level. So it’s not just surface.

Let's take it back to my first solo album, O, and then we go from O to 21, and then we go from 21 to Ollusion. Now with Sex Playlist, it's really just a maturation of all of my music. I’ve always had sex music but this is a full playlist and display of all the things that are happening in my life right now in life—in love, in sex, in all that stuff. Anyone knows that my music isn’t just centered around sex. It's thought-evoking and feeling-evoking. All of my music is meant to make you feel.

OK! Exclusive: Omarion Tells Us What's Coming Up For Him

I feel like when I listen to music nowadays, it’s a lot of commands. It’s a lot of demands. Do this dance, or feel like this. It's not like, "how do you feel?" And that’s really been the pieces of my career. When you hear Omarion, when you put it on at the right time on the right night in the right space, you're going to feel something and you're going to be inspired to move. And that’s what this whole process has been like.

I've been working with Rick Ross on this album, and Rozay is the type of person that is not just an artist. He understands what it takes and can acknowledge that in other people. That type of grind, that type of hustle, that type of effort. That was one of the reasons why I decided to align myself with someone of his sort. He understands what it takes to be a modern day mogul. You can't just be one thing, you have to do a lot of different things. And it’s been amazing working with him.

Rozay is an artist himself so he understands the importance of being true to your work. And as far as him influencing the sound, he didn’t. He respects my ear and he respects the work that I’ve done in the past. I think that that’s another reason why we decided to partner up. He respects my history and the album is just that.

OK! News: You Must See This PDA Pic of Drake and Rihanna

This album is a true reflection of me.  I really wanted to introduce people to the new me so I didn’t want part of my album to be a whole bunch of collaborations and stuff like that. So it's just me. The whole album is me.
