According to GossipCop, Oprah Winfrey bought her father's barber shop in Nashville in a foreclosure sale. Basically, Vernon Winfrey and his wife Barbara didn't have funds to pay for their property.

Just last year Vernon and Oprah's stepmother bought the building and renovated it, too! They moved his 50-year-old business to the new location until it seems like they hit rock bottom in the Benjamins department.
A spokesperson indicated he'll be able to "continue to manage the business on a day-to-day basis." Way to go, Oprah!
