Paula Abdul was the 80s it girl when it came to dance moves and pop tunes. The high school cheerleader followed her dreams and tried out for a spot as a Lakers cheerleader. Out of 700 girls, Paula was selected and made head cheerleader in three weeks at the age of 19. She attended California State University at Northridge but only lasted a short time before she quit school to go pro. She became the squad’s choreographer before she turned to music and releasing her first album Forever Your Girl. Evidently it sold 12 million copies and produced four number one singles. Her career became extremely complicated when the star faced a battle a severe eating disorder and two failed marriages. She became a judge on American Idol for eight long seasons before leaving in 2009. Prior to her leave, Paula faced rather interesting accusations focusing on her weird behavior that some say were linked to alcohol and medication abuse.
