Reese Witherspoon Reached Out to Robert Pattinson Post-Kristen Stewart Cheating Scandal

While we already knew Robert Pattinson sought refuge at Reese Witherspoon's sprawling California ranch after hearing (and seeing) the news about long-time girlfriend Kristen Stewart cheating, but we didn't know it was Reese who reached out to him.

While filming last year's Water For Elephants the two became fast friends and a source close to the pair say she views the actor as a "little brother."

Not to mention the fact she's endured a messy divorce after ex- husband Ryan Phillippe stepped out on her with a co-star.

"Reese went through a very public cheating scandal herself when Ryan Phillippe went outside their marriage and hooked up with Abbie Cornish so her first thought when she heard about Kristen and Rob was to reach out to him and make sure he was okay," an insider told RadarOnline.com.

Rob is super fond of the actress and gushed to the March 25 issue of Entertainment Weekly last year about how much he thoroughly enjoyed working with her. The two really gelled.

“There’s something about her. She’s just this genuinely nice person. I don’t know if she puts an effort into creating a nice aura, but her mood dissipates over the whole set," he said. She’s really cool and she’s just…never, ever annoying."
