Sean Lowe has been confirmed by ABC has the new Bachelor, when the 17th season of the reality show starts this January.
Bachelorette fans likely remember Sean from his attempts to win Emily Maynard's heart last season, until she chose current fiance, Jef Holm.
That isn't to say the Dallas businessman didn't make an impression on viewers and executives alike with his old-school romantic state of mind.
"Emily really showed me what I want out of life. That was the first time where I thought to myself, I want to spend the rest of my life with this one person. And that was such a good feeling, and I want to find that with someone else," he said.
In a conference call this summer, Sean told us he'd be a good pick for the next Bachelor because he's "genuine" and wants to settle down.

"Ultimately I want to find love," he said. "It would be a difficult decision if they were to ask me, only because it was so emotionally taxing and, you know, I don’t know if I could go through that again."
Aww.
Color us happy with this choice. As amusing as it was to picture Olympian Ryan surrounded by women, clutching a slew of red roses, something tells us Sean is a better fit.
