Awards shows on MTV are typically funny, weird, unpredictable, and occasionally awkward. Last night's MTV Movie Awards certainly brought all of that and more. Take a look back at all the best and worst moments and see if your favorites made the cut.
Best: Zac Efron shirtless.
Zac won for best shirtless performance, and it also seemed for a little bit there that he wouldn't take his shirt off during his acceptance speech... then Rita Ora left him no other choice, by ripping it open.

Worst: The technical difficulties.
Almost every single segment of the show, from the opening of the pre-show to the final moments, contained some sort of production issue. Lack of microphones, stars who couldn't see the teleprompter, smoke obscuring a presenter, no sound, and messed up audio during the performances all made viewers cringe (and want to switch to Mad Men).
Best: Eminem and Rihanna performing "Monster" together for the first time.
These two gave us a peek at how fun their tour will be when they sang the truly enjoyable ditty together. Loved that hug at the end.
Worst: No Jennifer Lawrence.
With Hunger Games: Catching Fire capturing most of the major awards, her absence was even more deeply felt. It would be nice to see her at a looser, more fun awards show instead of the usual stuffy ones.
Best: Ellie Goulding and Zedd's performance.
It was dreamy, it was trippy, and it was incredible to hear Ellie Goulding's bizarrely lovely voice live.

Worst: Mark Wahlberg is the angriest person to ever receive a lifetime achievement award.
After watching an impressive montage of his best movies, Mark got up on stage and complained that they only give this award to old people whose careers are on the down swing. Lighten up, Marky Mark.
Best: The fashion.
People don't always know how to dress for MTV events. A gown? A printed romper? But sometimes all that experimentation is just plain fun, as it was last night.

Worst: The Twenty One Pilots performance.
Thanks for making us feel really old, MTV. As the strange indie band started playing, Twitter exploded with questions about what sounds were coming out of people's TVs.
Best: The Fault in Our Stars clip.
Ansel Elgort was surprisingly sweet, and Shailene Woodley perfect as always, in the exclusive sneak peek from the movie, which aired during the pre-show. The film is out June 6.
