Ben Affleck is burning through millions of dollars to keep Jennifer Lopez happy — and he has no qualms about his grand gestures putting their romance back in the public eye, spills a source.
The besotted actor, 48, footed the bill for the couple’s luxury getaway along the south of France and Italy last month, which included renting a megayacht and gifting J.Lo — who turned 52 on July 24 — with a custom diamond-and-gold necklace for her birthday.
“Ben forked over a ton of money for the boat, private jets, jewelry and expensive meals and champagne,” the source dishes.
Romance certainly appeared to be in the air when the Gigli costars were on the high seas. The Hustlers actress took to Instagram and shared a shot of herself and Affleck locked in a steamy kiss on their mega cruiser while celebrating her 52nd trip around the sun.

A day later, the Gone Girl actor was snapped grabbing Lopez's famous booty — a cheeky nod to her 2002 "Jenny From the Block" music video, which Affleck appeared in — while reportedly sailing from the Mediterranean in St. Tropez.
Once on land, the former Fly Girl and Affleck were spotted strolling hand-in-hand around Capri, Italy, with a group of pals.
While there’s no doubt Lopez loves that he’s splashing out the cash, “it’s not something she’s demanding of Ben,” explains the source, noting that the Gone Girl star has a relatively modest net worth of around $150 million compared with J.Lo’s $400 million fortune.
“But Ben’s convinced he needs to do it to impress her, plus he’s always gotten a huge rush spending his money,” adds the source. “The way he’s throwing it around, you’d think he’s a billionaire, but he’s not even close!”
As OK! previously reported, a source revealed that the couple's romantic getaway was exactly what the two needed. “The trip solidified how happy they both are to be back together,” the source dished. “Jen says the whole vacation was a magical experience from beginning to end.”
It looks as though the couple made some important decisions during their trip: After they got home, the two were spotted house hunting in Los Angeles.
