Gerren Taylor, who was best known for starring on BET’s Baldwin Hills, has died at age 30.
Taylor, who was born Ashley Gerren Taylor, reportedly passed away early on Sunday, April 11, but a cause of death has not yet been released.
Although Taylor reportedly had lupus and was being treated with dialysis at the time, it is unknown if this played a role in her untimely passing, according to Essence.
Taylor was only 12 years old when she was the youngest model ever signed by L.A. Models, which saw her model for top brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Marc Jacobs before her stint on Baldwin Hills. She also appeared in America is Beautiful, a documentary about beauty standards.
She joined the Baldwin Hills cast in 2007, and the show documented the lives of Black teenagers in the area.
Taylor had a 6-year-old daughter Miyoko Amor, who is also known as Koko.

BET paid a tribute to their Baldwin Hills alum and sent their "hearts" to Taylor's "family and friends."
BET's College Hill: Virginia State University alum Misster Ray described Taylor's passing as the "worst news." "She was one of the first people to reach out to me when I shared my alopecia diagnosis and she shared her’s with me," he recalled.
"Rest easy sis," Olympian Carol Rodriguez shared.
Model Nia Riley recalled how "12 years ago you entered my life being nothing but one of my most solid friends ever!! I’m so heartbroken! I’ll never get over this, I don’t understand."
CEO Gordon Swaby recalled meeting Taylor in Jamacia in 2009 and said she was a "really amazing person."
Designer Santino Rice met Taylor when she was only 12 at a model casting.
