After being diagnosed with stage four cancer less than a month ago, Dustin Diamond has died on Monday, February 1 — and the entertainment industry, as well as fans of Saved by the Bell's beloved Screech, are heartbroken.

The actor, best known for his work on the NBC sitcom, was initially hospitalized in Florida in January after experiencing "pain all over his body." The 44-year-old has a family history of the disease, having lost his mother to breast cancer.

Diamond first found a lump in his throat, which led to his diagnosis. As OK! previously reported, the actor was set to complete more rounds of chemotherapy as well as physical therapy.

"It's not good, it's not good at all. He's going to be in the hospital for a while. He's getting through his treatments now. It's tough, it's very hard," an insider revealed. "He’s going through a lot of pain, but he still keeps his spirits up. Right now, he’s just suffering. He has his ups and downs where he’s great one minute, but then he can be in a lot of pain — tears. It’s such an emotional time."
