"I’m Nervous for DWTS … Confession time — this may be my 24th time doing #dwts, and even though I’m SO excited, I also have major nerves," the 37-year-old said in a video on Instagram while she was on the way to rehearsals on Monday, September 20. "Doing this show sober has really made me realize my every insecurity and the amount of pressure I put on myself, which is tough."
"Just wanted to be honest with you all because I know sometimes it can look like this stuff is easy for us, but that wouldn’t be real. That being said, I love my partner [Cody Rigsby] and love all of you so it’s going to be a great night. Thanks for always supporting and get those voting fingers ready for tonight!" she said in the clip.
After the season 30 premiere, Burke told Entertainment Tonight that the experience was scary, "especially being sober."
"Its been interesting for me to actually feel the feelings that are happening," Burke explained. "It's almost been a whole new experience, in a good way. It's almost like I have a new love and passion for Dancing With the Stars, because 'seeing everything for how it is, and it's really nice."
In September 2020, she revealed that she was two years sober.
The dancer and the Peloton instructor wowed the judges and the audience with a tango to Dua Lipa's "Physical" and received a standing ovation. The duo scored sixes from all four judges, which totaled 24 out of 40.
"We did it. We are officially partners," Burke gushed on her Instagram Story after the show with Rigsby.
