Convicted family killer Chris Watts and his girlfriend, Lizzie Henderson, are facing intense backlash from her family, who have reportedly warned her to stay away from him.

In 2018, Watts pleaded guilty to the brutal murders of his pregnant wife, Shanann, and their two young daughters, Bella and Celeste, to avoid the death penalty. He is currently incarcerated with no possibility of parole.

Chris and Lizzie, a 39-year-old former realtor, have officially submitted a formal marriage request within the Wisconsin prison system.

Family sources revealed that relatives are furious over the romance, with reports noting they have bluntly and profanely told her to stay away from the notorious killer.

"They cursed her out," a source said.

During her exclusive interview with Inside Edition, Fredericka Henderson strictly criticized her sister's relationship with the killer and stated that inmates convicted of such heinous crimes should not be allowed to have romantic relationships: "I feel that when people are sentenced to prison, the privilege of being involved in a relationship shouldn't be given."

Lizzie has already applied for a confidential name change to use his last name legally and is going by "Lizzie Watts" online.

She moved from Ohio to Wisconsin to live closer to Dodge Correctional Institution, where Chris is serving multiple life sentences.

Lizzie spent Christmas Day in 2024 visiting Chris at the maximum-security facility.

Prison visitation logs indicate she visited him at least 20 times during 2025.

A different former mistress, Amanda McMahon, broke her silence in a July Daily Mail interview detailing her brief past relationship with the killer before the murders.

Amanda came forward to police detailing a brief Tinder affair where she described Chris' bedroom behavior as "very rough," humiliating and highly aggressive.

Chris Watts was having an affair when he killed his family.

In August, Lizzie publicly addressed the romance, acknowledging that while people find it "weird," Chris "knows how I feel" about his horrific crimes.

Explosive new details from Daily Mail exposed how Chris' former cellmates and ex-lovers have revealed the dark double life, shocking fetishes and the all-consuming obsessions fueling his existence behind bars.

Investigators uncovered that his wholesome "family man" persona was a total facade masking aggressive, hidden impulses.

Former cellblock mates revealed that Chris possessed an unquenchable fixation on beautiful women, viewing them as both an ultimate weakness and a tool for control.

His intense, all-consuming affair with coworker Nichol Kessinger became his primary driver. She conducted searches regarding "marrying your mistress" just days before the mass murder.

Despite his horrific crimes, Chris receives a massive influx of letters from women seeking romance.

In correspondence with pen pals, he routinely utilizes spiritual language to minimize his actions, calling external women "harlots" and blaming them for tempting him.

The murderer has continually altered his story regarding the final moments of his pregnant wife and daughters.

Investigators and fellow cellmates believe Chris is actively concealing the exact timeline and gruesome details of how he executed the family annihilation, taking the absolute truth of his psychological breakdown to his grave to protect what remains of his narcissistic self-image.
