Christina Ricci Pregnant With Second Child Following Nasty Divorce From Ex James Heerdegen Who She Accused Of Being Physically & Mentally Abusive
Christina Ricci is pregnant!
“Life keeps getting better. 🎉,” the 41-year-old captioned an ultrasound photo via Instagram on Tuesday, August 10. It is unclear who the baby daddy is.
Her famous pals gushed over the exciting announcement. “Omg congrats x a million!!!!!,” writer Sarah Hoover commented, while actress Jamie Anne Allman wrote: “Wow! Congrats Christina! That’s amazing! 😍.”
The news comes shortly after the Casper alum and her estranged ex, James Heerdegen, asked a court to legally end their marriage. A judge signed off on the request, reported Radar. The former flames are still working on a custody arrangement, child support and how to split their joint property.
In July 2020, Ricci filed for divorce from Heerdegen after seven years of marriage. She cited "irreconcilable differences" in her petition and asked for sole legal and physical custody of their 7-year-old son, Freddie.

Their divorce turned nasty earlier this year, when Ricci was granted a restraining order against Heerdegen. She filed the paperwork on Wednesday, January 20, and was granted an emergency protective order after she claimed years of physical and mental abuse.
Ricci alleged the abuse started all the way back in October 2013 after she learned she was pregnant with their son. The Sleepy Hollow star feared for her life, as she claimed her ex “made me think that he could kill me” during a car ride in late 2019. “He said the only way he could feel sorry for me is if I were dismembered into small pieces," she explained at the time.
She noted that she wanted to file for divorce after a “brutal” attack that occurred in December 2019, but then “found herself trapped in a house with a violent abuser” due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that forced everyone into lockdown.
"[James] focused solely on punishing and terrorizing me 24 hours a day,” she wrote in the documents, adding that she “was afraid to sleep at night.” Ricci added that she was subjected to “severe physical and emotional abuse” by her husband in front of their son.
