Aaron Phypers claims a shortfall in spousal support from Denise Richards left him struggling to cover basic expenses, including housing, utilities and transportation.
"I have been living without electricity, water, gas and cell service," Phypers stated in a declaration filed in their divorce case. "My car is being repossessed and I cannot afford gas to get to my attorney's office."
Phypers Said He Was Forced to Find Cheaper Housing
Phypers said he is struggling financially.
Phypers said the situation forced him to make significant changes to his living arrangements.
He stated that he was evicted from his home and moved with his family to what he described as a "humblingly cheap place not far from my attorney's office."
He Said the Problems Also Affected His Ability to Work
Phypers said he was evicted from his house.
Phypers connected some of his financial difficulties to setbacks involving his business.
He alleged that Richards admitted to destroying his phone in 2025, which he said contained the contacts he needed for work.
According to the filing, losing those contacts prevented him from restarting his business and getting income flowing again.

A Judge Previously Ordered Richards to Pay Monthly Support
Richards was ordered to pay Phypers $5,000 monthly.
A judge ordered Richards to pay $5,000 in temporary spousal support each month beginning in March. The court also ordered her to contribute $30,000 toward Phypers' divorce-related legal expenses, including $25,000 for his attorney and $5,000 for a forensic accountant.
The monthly amount was divided into $2,000 for rent, $1,000 for a car, $1,000 for food and the balance for miscellaneous expenses. Phypers now claims more than $23,000 remains unpaid.
When the order was issued in February, Phypers told the court the support would "certainly help" but said he was taking things "one day at a time."
Richards offered a different account of her finances during that hearing, saying she "could barely pay for [her] attorney" and had been "blowing through everything" she earned during the marriage.
Their Six-Year Marriage Ended in 2025
Richards and Phypers had been married for six years.
Richards and Phypers married in 2018 after dating for several years.
Phypers filed for divorce in July 2025, ending their six-year marriage.
The proceedings quickly became contentious, with Richards accusing Phypers of abuse and Phypers denying the allegations. Phypers claimed that Richards was the one initiating frequent calls and messages, even involving his father, and claimed she asked family members and friends to urge him to call her. He argued that she was "the aggressive one."
Richards was later granted a permanent restraining order against Phypers that remains in effect until 2030.
