Though a ton of drama ensued after Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman, 69, became engaged to Francie Frane less than a year after his wife Beth died of cancer in 2019, but the TV star believes he wouldn't be in the great place he is today if everything didn't play out as it had.
Chatting with host David Yontef on the "Behind the Velvet Rope" podcast, he noted that Frane sees things the same way, as when they met, her husband Robert "Bob" Frane had also recently passed.
"When they are sick, you gotta be there. You can't work, you can't do normal day stuff," he recalled. "And we got married September 2nd. And you know, I just... I feel back now."
Chapman added that he thinks "Beth would be very proud" of him, as would Frane's ex of her. In fact, he believes that his new wife has helped him become a better person.

"I feel that we're doing what we can of the Lords work. Francie is such a good little Christian, you know, she's a rancher. Did you know that?" he shared. "Imagine me doing The Masked Singer. What about me marrying a rancher? Holy God, right? So we're just fighting the good fight. We're very lucky. God is blessing us. Hallelujah."
The Dog's Most Wanted star also believes that Frane, his sixth wife, will be his last.
"This is it. We both said, 'this is [the] last time.' And our spouses are in heaven. So I told her, 'Stay with me, Francie,' and I'm going to stay with her," he insisted. "And I don't mean to ever disrespect Beth, but I know I saved the best for last, because that's how it is. And I do believe supernaturally that Beth had something to do with Francie, because Beth and I had meetings at the last ... l'll never tell anybody [what was said]. I know what Beth told me. So I'm sure that she would, I think if I didn't have Francie, I would have let Beth down."
