Fans were left stunned when Earth, Wind & Fire announced an unexpected postponement.
“We are unable to perform as scheduled tonight at Chase Center in San Francisco due to a medical emergency involving a member of our band,” the group revealed in a statement shared on Instagram.
The abrupt announcement came shortly before the legendary group was set to take the stage as part of its co-headlining Sing a Song All Night Long tour.
“As a result, tonight’s show with Lionel Richie will be rescheduled, with a new date to be announced soon,” the statement continued.

The group also addressed concertgoers who had already arrived at the venue and explained what would happen next.
“We sincerely apologize for the unexpected change and appreciate everyone’s understanding,” they admitted.
The band did not identify which member experienced the medical emergency or provide additional details about the incident.
Meanwhile, Richie, who is touring alongside the Grammy-winning band, reshared the statement on his Instagram Stories.
Reports Said Emergency Crews Responded To a ‘Critical’ Medical Incident
Earth, Wind & Fire apologized to fans and confirmed the postponed concert would be rescheduled at a later date.
While the band kept details private, TMZ reported that emergency responders were dispatched to Chase Center on Thursday evening after what officials described as a “cardiac incident.”
According to the outlet, a spokesperson for the San Francisco Fire Department said a fire engine and a private ambulance responded to the venue before a patient was taken to a nearby hospital in “critical” condition.

Lionel Richie ended a concert early after suffering a dizzy spell during the Sing a Song All Night Long tour earlier this summer.
Neither the band nor local officials identified the patient or confirmed whether the reported cardiac incident involved a member of Earth, Wind & Fire.
The tour is currently scheduled to continue with performances in Palm Desert, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Austin, though it remains unclear whether Thursday's medical emergency will affect any upcoming dates.

Lionel Richie previously paused a concert after feeling dizzy during opening night of his tour.
The postponement comes just weeks after Richie faced a frightening moment during the opening night of the same tour in St. Paul, Minnesota.
“When you're feeling dizzy, sit your a– down,” Richie told the audience while performing “Dancing on the Ceiling.”
The singer briefly tried to continue the show before stopping again.
"Unfortunately, Lionel is not feeling well," saxophonist Dino Soldo revealed. "He won't be able to continue. Additional information will be available."
On June 26, his ex-wife, Brenda Harvey-Richie, reassured worried fans with a message on X.
She wrote, “Thanking everyone for their concern! Lionel is OK and will be back on the stage. ❤️❤️”
