Elon Musk & Grimes Break Up After Three Years Together: 'We Are Semi-Separated But Still Love Each Other'
The SpaceX founder confirmed he and Grimes are "semi-separated" after three years together. While they may no longer be romantically involved, the 50-year-old said the former flames are on good terms and will continue to co-parent 1-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii Musk.
“We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,” Musk told Page Six. “It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA. She’s staying with me now and Baby X is in the adjacent room.”
Musk and Grimes — who welcomed their bundle of joy last May — were first linked in May 2018 and made their red carpet debut that June at the Met Gala. The 33-year-old and the entrepreneur were last seen together earlier this month at the Met Gala. However, the mother-of-one walked the red carpet alone, with her former beau joining her inside.
Musk later threw a larger-than-life Met Gala afterparty at club Zero Bond, which Grimes was in attendance for along with A-list guests Lil Nas X, Leonardo DiCaprio, Chris Rock, Rami Malek, Scooter Braun, Nina Agdal, and Lil Baby.

The coparents were seen leaving New York together one day after their night on the town.
Meanwhile, Musk reportedly flew solo last weekend for a party thrown by Google co-founder Sergey Brin's wife, Nicole Shanahan.
Despite the former couple's differences, it's clear Musk and Grimes remain dedicated to their child, as the brunette beauty recently gushed over becoming a mother and how it has changed her life. “I think having a baby was a big kind of like rebirth for me, like artistically. Like, it just like, I don’t know,” she told Vogue ahead of the Met Gala.
Apart from son X Æ A-Xii, Musk shares five sons: twins Griffin and Xavier, 17, and triplets Damian, Saxon and Kai, 15, with ex-wife and author Justine Wilson. The billionaire was also married, twice, to Westworld actress Talulah Riley and previously dated Amber Heard from 2017-2018 — after the actress' marriage to Johnny Depp took a turn for the worst.
