'Flip Or Flop' Set 'Too Intimate' For Exes Tarek El Moussa & Christina Haack: 'It Was Time To Close That Chapter'
Too close for comfort?
After a ten-season run and very public divorce, exes Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack's Flip or Flop reality series is coming to an end. Though the former couple continued to film the HGTV show, which debuted in 2013 while they were still married, together following their 2016 split, an insider spilled that working together was two intense for the coparents, who share children Taylor, 11, and Brayden, 6.
"Tarek and Christina are generally cordial. They're co-parenting and nothing gets in the way of that," a source told People hours after the network announced the show wouldn't be returning for another season. "The show was just too intimate of a setting at this point and it was time to close that chapter."
While Flip or Flop primarily followed the former reality star couple amid their business endeavors of buying, renovating and selling homes in Southern California, the show also documented how El Moussa and Haack navigated their changing relationship and parental duties while still working together.
Despite filming together for years after calling it quits, it seemed tension started to boil over in July 2021, when El Moussa lost his cool on his ex, launching a verbal tirade against her while on set. From calling Haack a "washed-up loser" to comparing him to his then-girlfriend and now-wife Heather Rae Young, it was clear things turned heated.
Luckily, everything between the costars appeared to have blown over, as Young insisted in September: "everyone’s moving on." Pointing out, "People have to remember they’re coworkers and they are exes," the Selling Sunset star added, “There’s going to be little frustrations here and there," given the reality stars' unusual situation.
Meanwhile, El Moussa and Haack can now close this chapter of their lives, with them both moving on with new significant others.

As OK! reported, El Moussa and Young first met on the Fourth of July in 2019 and got engaged one year later on their one year anniversary. The loved-up couple wed in October 2021 and have since been living on cloud nine, as they make plans for expanding their family.
"We’re best friends above everything. We put each other first, our family first, the kids first, and that’s the most important thing," Young gushed of their relationship, with her adding of possibly welcoming a new member to their family: "Tarek and I, in the beginning, we did not want to have any more kids. But as you grow and your love changes, we started throwing around the idea of having a baby."
As for Haack, she began dating Ant Anstead in October 2017, and the two wed in December 2018 in a surprise backyard ceremony at their home. After welcoming 2-year-old son Hudson London together, the coparents parted ways in September 2020. Haack and Anstead's divorce was finalized in June 2021, with news that Haack found a new relationship making headlines the following month.
Haack and new flame Josh Hall announced they were engaged in September of last year, while Anstead moved on with actress Renée Zellweger.
As Haack gears up to walk down the aisle once more, OK! exclusively learned her ex isn't quite there yet with his new flame. "It’s dawned on him [Ant] that he needs more time and space before committing to another marriage,” said an insider after the famous couple already discussed getting hitched. “He loves Renée, but all his old fears and insecurities are coming back."
