Former Yankees Pitcher CC Sabathia Reportedly Stuck In NYC Elevator For 45 Minutes

A close call! Former Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia is said to have been stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes this week and had to be rescued by the New York City fire department.

The 40-year-old was at the Rookie USA grand opening in Union Square on Thursday, June 24, when the elevator got stuck, with his family and the event organizer inside.

Sabathia reportedly handled the situation like a champ and kept his cool throughout the scary ordeal.

"He had his game face on the whole time and kept everyone calm in the elevator," a source said. "When they got him out he said, ‘Thank you, New York’s Bravest!'"

The event launched Russell Wilson's 3BRAND kid's clothing line, with Sabathia’s children, Carter and Cyia, stepping in as child models to walk the runway.

Other young budding models on the runaway included Dascha Planco's son Aryam, Victor Cruz’s daughter Kennedy, Tiki Barber’s daughters Brooklyn and Teagan and others.

Also in attendance was Peloton trainer Ally Love, Adrienne Bailon, Fabolous and Keyshawn Johnson.

Meanwhile, Sabathia has been busy since he retired in 2019 with a goal of getting buffer than ever.

"It is getting close," he told Complex when asked if him or Giancarlo Stanton was more "jacked". "This was my goal in retirement to look like these guys—Judge, Big G, [Aroldis] Chapman. They were all my inspirations. I’m getting close. I haven’t seen the guys in a little while so we’ll have to wait and see."

"We go to the roof on Sunday mornings and do this torture chamber and we just make up s**t like all morning for a couple of hours. It’s a fun workout, but he’s fun to workout with because he’s so motivating and he likes to have fun and if you get tired he’s going to keep you going. He’s a perfect, fun workout partner to have. We just have fun every day—Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sundays," he said of working out with Action Bronson.
