Gigi Hadid Releases Statement About Alleged Altercation Between Boyfriend Zayn Malik & Mother Yolanda Hadid As The Singer Is Reportedly Battling 'Personal Demons'
Gigi Hadid has broken her silence about the alleged fight between her boyfriend Zayn Malik and her mother Yolanda Hadid.
The 26-year-old's rep told E! News that Gigi is only focused on her and Malik's daughter — "Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time."
The model's statement comes as it is being reported that the former boy band member has been dealing with “personal demons.”
A source told Radar, “Zayn has had personal demons for some time," alluding to an alleged history of substance abuse.
"He suffers from anxiety and struggled with fame," the insider explained about the former star of One Direction. "When all these are mixed together, it is a recipe for disaster. He is known to have acted out, constantly – and is erratic.”
As OK! previously reported, the former RHOBH star is claiming that Malik hit her after an alleged altercation that reportedly took place last week. The "PILLOWTALK" singer has vehemently denied these claims as he said in a statement — "I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid."

The insider told the outlet about the star's struggles adding, “At one instance, in 2017, he had to be propped up at an event he was so wasted.”
“That said, Yolanda and the family have been very supportive of Zayn and those ‘demons,’" the source claimed. "The partying, mixed with the taste of celebrity, was a horrible combination. He cheated on his former fiancé, Perrie [Edwards] ; Gigi knew that and knew he was a serial cheater, but together thought they could tame him.”
The insider revealed that although the family has attempted to step in — nothing has helped. “The Hadid family hoped when he and Gigi welcome Khai to the world, he would settle down. He didn’t — or perhaps, couldn’t. It’s a very sad scenario."
As OK! exclusively reported, Gigi — who has remained silent on social media since October 22 — believed that moving Malik out to their Pennsylvania farm would help tame his demons. “It’s less likely any drama will follow him out there,” the insider said.
“He’d promised Gigi that he’d given up his partying and gotten a grip on his temper," the source explained — adding that the mother-of-one made the musician promise “to be home by dark every night” — following his NYC bar brawl in early June.
On Thursday, October 28, Malik took to Instagram to defend himself against Yolanda's claims as he wrote in part: “As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private safe for my daughter to grow up in." He continued, “A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart.”
