The clock is ticking! Now that they're expecting, Halsey and boyfriend Alev Aydin are looking to put marriage before the baby carriage.
The singer, 26, who proudly announced her pregnancy on Instagram on January 27, and her screenwriter beau, 37, "want to get hitched this spring," shares a source. "They're hoping to have a small, socially distanced wedding with just family and a few friends in attendance."
Although Halsey and Aydin's relationship is relatively new — the duo reportedly hooked up sometime last summer — their friendship goes back several years.
"She always thought Alev was the sweetest guy in the world. But when they got together last year, she felt like she'd finally found her soulmate," the source says of the songstress, whose high-profile exes include Evan Peters, Machine Gun Kelly and G-Eazy. "Halsey couldn't be happier with the way everything's worked out and can't wait for her and Alev to become a family of three."
As OK! previously reported, Halsey is currently in her second trimester of the pregnancy and is feeling great. She is also following the doctor's advice and is getting plenty of rest and taking things easy. She's also on a healthy diet, but she does find herself giving in to her cravings — she's totally fond of gummy candy and cookies; however, the soon-to-be mother tries to ensure that she goes easy on her indulgences.
As far as their relationship is concerned, the two have managed to keep it away from the spotlight and have only been photographed once together when they were spotted stocking up on art supplies at Blick's in Los Angeles.
The two also got quite close during the lockdown in the early stages of the pandemic — last June, tattoo artist Amanda Owley shared that Aydin and Halsey got matching "SEEDS" tattoos on their feet. Owley posted a picture of herself with Halsey and another picture of the two together.
"Today I met the sweetest two people. Ashley and Alev. You may know her better as HALSEY," she wrote on her Instagram. "@iamhalsey 'Seeds' is for planting seeds. She said this is cosmicly [sic] the best week to plant seeds in your life. I agree."
