Back from the brink!
Heather Locklear was all smiles when she was recently spotted heading to an L.A. garden party. And with good reason: After a long struggle with substance abuse and more than 20 stints in rehab, the Dynasty alum has finally conquered her demons and just celebrated three years of sobriety.
“At 60, her life is going better than it has in years,” a source tells OK!. “It’s taken so much strength and hard work, but Heather is reaping the rewards. She feels great and is in a fantastic place.”
The actress, who got engaged to high school sweetheart Chris Heisser, 60, in April 2020, has also finally found Mr. Right. “She’s so grateful they reconnected,” a source says of Locklear's romance with Heisser, whom she was seen with on April 22.
“Heather’s had her choice of hunky A-listers, but he’s her Prince Charming after kissing a ton of frogs,” dishes the source.
The blonde beauty, whose recent Lifetime biopic, Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story, marks her first acting project in five years, credits the contractor with helping her get a foothold in Hollywood once again.
“She says she feels totally supported by him,” the source explains. “That has made a huge difference in getting her life back on track.”

The smitten duo is even apparently already planning their next step — walking down the aisle!
“They’re going to have an intimate beach wedding in Malibu, probably this summer,” spills the source, who says Locklear’s daughter, Ava, 24 (with ex-hubby Richie Sambora), will be standing by her side. “Ava is thrilled that her mom is finally healthy and happy,” the source shares. “Heather sums it up best when she says better late than never. She’s a true survivor.”
Although a wedding appears to be in the works, Locklear previously spilled that a big ceremony is "so not important" as long as they are committed to each other.
"I'm like, 'You're my man for the rest of my life, whether we get married or not,’” she gushed of her genuine happiness in her renewed relationship. “[A wedding] is so not important. We're together, and we love each other and support each other. And really that's all that matters.”
