Ireland Baldwin Slams Journalists For Contacting Her About Alec Baldwin's Accidental Fatal Shooting: 'Wishing I Could Hug My Dad Extra Tight Today'
Ireland Baldwin is addressing the tragic accident involving her famous father.
On Thursday, October 21, Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun and accidentally killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.
The actor's 25-year-old daughter took to Instagram to voice her frustration with “insensitive” reporters trying to reach out to her for a comment on the incident.
“To the handful of journalists who have been contacting me, you’re despicable and insensitive,” Ireland wrote on her Instagram story on Friday, October 22. “To anyone who’s been giving out my number, please lose it and don’t contact me again.”
She posted the message alongside a screenshot of a text from an unnamed freelance journalist who asked her for an interview, claiming that it would be “beneficial for both” parties.
The fashion model followed up her post with another message, this time sending a tribute to those impacted by the accident.
“My love and support go to Halnya [sic] Hutchins’ family and friends. Sending healing thoughts to Joel Souza,” she wrote in Friday's post. "And wishing I could hug my dad extra tight today."
Ireland is the daughter of Baldwin and his ex-wife Kim Basinger, who he divorced in 2002.

The 30 Rock alum was filming for his upcoming Western film Rust in Santa Fe., New Mexico when the tragedy occurred as the result of a prop gun that was loaded with a live round.
A witness on the scene recalled the actor repeatedly asking “Why was I handed a hot gun?” while in shock from the firing.
“In all my years, I’ve never been handed a hot gun,” he reportedly added.
Baldwin was pictured outside of the Sante Fe sheriff’s office seemingly in tears over the whole ordeal.
He broke his silence on the matter with a social media post on Friday.
“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother, and deeply admired colleague of ours," he wrote. "I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.”
“My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna,” he added.
The late cinematographer’s husband Matthew also revealed that he has been in touch with Baldwin, who he described as being “very supportive.”
