Jax Taylor Reveals The Real Reason He Left 'Vanderpump Rules' After Eight Seasons: Watch
Fans were shocked when Jax Taylor and wife Brittany Cartwright announced they were bowing out of Vanderpump Rules. Now, the new dad is opening up on his decision to exit the reality series that made him a household name.
The 42-year-old will appear as a guest on an episode of The Doctors airing on Monday, October 18. In an exclusive clip obtained by OK!, Taylor (real name: Jason Michael Cauchi) discussed departing the Bravo show after eight seasons.
“I just think it was time for my wife and I to move on. I’m 42 years old, I am a father now,” he explained. “Just the idea of going back to that world, and going back to the arguing and the fighting with people half my age — it was a lot of anxiety.”
“You gotta film it, then you gotta go live through it again. I loved the show, I had a great time on the show. I got family and friends on the show, I have nothing bad to say about it," the former TV personality continued, before adding, "It was just my time to move on.”
In December 2020, Taylor and Cartwright announced they would not be returning for season 9, with the actor noting at the time, "The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life."

Following their announcement, Bravo head honcho Andy Cohen sung Taylor's praises, noting he'd been a "good sport" and would "go down as one of the biggest ... reality stars in the moment."
Taylor and the 32-year-old's exit came following a massive VR shake-up within the cast. OGs Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were both fired due to how they treated former costar Faith Stowers. (The pals wrongfully identified Stowers as a criminal and called the police on her two years earlier.) Newcomers Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were also axed due to prior racist behavior.
Still, it seems Taylor and Cartwright are doing just fine in this new chapter of their lives. The pair welcomed their first child, a son named Cruz Michael Cauchi, in April. Taylor is also starring in a new movie with Robert DeNiro, which he'll discuss during his apperance on The Doctors.
