Jeff Bridges Wants To Renew Vows With Wife Susan Following Cancer & COVID Battle, Says Source
Counting his blessings!
Jeff Bridges feels lucky to be alive after his miracle recovery from COVID, and now he and his wife of 44 years, Susan, want to celebrate with each other in a special way.
The Big Lebowski actor, 71, who was diagnosed with lymphoma last year, recently revealed that he believes he caught the virus last January while undergoing chemotherapy — and then passed it to Susan, 68.
Last month, the actor shared a health update with fans by posting a statement on his website. Jeff revealed his “9-inch x 12-inch” mass “has shrunk down to the size of a marble” — and noted that his cancer battle has been a “piece of cake” compared to his fight with COVID-19.
Though many would find his health crisis daunting, Jeff managed to find a silver lining. “This brush with mortality has brought me a real gift. Life is brief [and] beautiful. Love is all around us, & available all times," he wrote at the time. "It’s a matter of opening ourselves to receive the gift.”

“They both went through such a rough period, especially Jeff,” notes a friend of the Iron Man actor and his longtime love. “Now that he’s finally better — and the cancer is in remission — he wants to marry Sue all over again by the end of the year, if not sooner.”
The couple, who met in Montana while Jeff was filming 1975’s Rancho Deluxe and Susan was working as a roadhouse waitress, “want to renew their vows on the beach with their daughters [Isabelle, 40, Jessica, 38, and Haley, 35], their families and loved ones,” the pal shares.
Throughout their harrowing health battle, “Jeff and Sue never lost hope and were there to lift each other’s spirits,” the friend adds. “They’ve never been more in love.”
