Marc Anthony Providing Comfort To Ex-Wife Jennifer Lopez Following Her Split From Fiancé Alex Rodriguez, Insider Divulges
Power couple Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s relationship was plagued with cheating rumors for months, and the “Let’s Get Loud” singer ultimately pulled the plug on their four-year romance — but it seems that J.Lo still needs a shoulder to cry on.
As OK! previously reported, Lopez could no longer fully “trust” the former New York Yankees player. "There are too many issues that are unresolved," a pal close to Lopez dished.
The former flames confirmed their split, ending their engagement on Thursday, April 15, saying they were better off as friends. "We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and each other’s children," they announced on the TODAY show and have asked for privacy for their children.
Lopez has been surrounded by her family and friends to help her cope while she continues to film her upcoming movie, Shotgun Wedding, in the Dominican Republic — but it’s being reported that a special someone from the superstar's past has been there to pick up the pieces.
The Latin superstar has been leaning on her ex-husband Marc Anthony — whom she shares twins Emme and Max, 13, with — following her split from Rodriguez.
"Jennifer is doing well. She is still filming in the Dominican Republic. The kids have visited her and they make her the happiest," an insider spilled on how Lopez is feeling post breakup. "Jennifer and Marc Anthony have a great relationship. Having Marc around while she has had to work abroad has been very comforting for Jennifer."

After her devastating split from ex Ben Affleck, Lopez and Anthony married in June 2004 and welcomed twins Max and Emme in February 2008. The pair ultimately ended their relationship in July 2011. They have remained dedicated to co-parenting their kids and have maintained a friendship, even sharing an onstage kiss during the Latin Grammys in 2016.
Anthony isn’t the only ex Lopez has turned to for support since ending her engagement with Rodriguez. OK! exclusively learned that her and ex-fiancé Affleck “have been talking in private a lot over the past few months” as her rocky relationship with Rodriguez unfolded.
“When things started to get bad with Alex, Jen turned to Ben for advice,” a source told OK!, adding: “It would surprise no one that really knows Jen to see her get back with Ben. When Jen is hurt she finds comfort. Which is exactly what Ben’s providing at the moment. He is like a comfortable pair of old jeans that you can’t throw away.”
