Jessica Alba has long had one of the best bodies in Hollywood and has proved time and time again that she is no stranger to the fitness game.
Now, at 40 years of age and a mom of three, the brunette beauty continues to stay in tip-top shape, but without going to extremes. Instead, she focuses on the basics — eating smart and simply staying active.
Check out Alba's surprisingly do-able secrets to a gorgeous body and a healthy mind below.
TAKE IT EASY
After years of punishing workouts, the star said she's adopted a gentler approach. "I always thought... I need to have muscle failure, I need to feel like I just ran a marathon," she recently revealed, adding that she tries to exercise two to four times a week, even if it's just taking a walk. "I've learned to mix it up and not feel like a failure if I'm not, you know, killing myself."
START STRONG
Alba begins most days with a smoothie (she uses coconut water, almond butter and fruit) followed by avocado toast and poached eggs, noting, "That's my favorite breakfast."
FIND BALANCE
"Four days a week, I try to eat plant-based, and I don't drink alcohol," the Dark Angel alum shared. "Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all bets are off. That feels like moderation to me." Agreed!

TAG TEAM
The L.A.’s Finest beauty prefers breaking a sweat with pals (she also has daughter Honor, 12, join her for workouts on the reg). “I really like taking group classes, or I like to work out with friends,” she explained. “It’s more fun!”
PUMP UP THE VOLUME
DRINK UP
In addition to plain old H20, "I really love the health benefits that come with coconut water," explained the Honest Company founder. "I drink coffee, tea and coconut water — that's it. [Hydration] is important for overall health."
KEEP IT SIMPLE
Forget fads! The star steers clear of processed foods and focuses on eating clean. "I try to stick to a diet that’s low in sugar and carbs and high in lean protein and vegetables," she's said.
