Jimmy Fallon found the image late night could not ignore: Natalie Harp in a trunk.
On the August 20 episode of The Tonight Show, Fallon turned recent reporting about President Donald Trump’s personal aide into a parody interview, bringing on an actress in a blonde wig as “Natalie Harp” from inside the back of a vehicle.
“Well, Trump’s personal aide Natalie Harp continues to be in the news,” Fallon said. “We just learned that one time she was told that there wasn’t room for her in Trump’s motorcade, so she hopped in the trunk to avoid getting left behind.”
The Trunk Interview
An actress portraying Natalie Harp appeared inside a vehicle trunk during the parody interview.
Fallon then cut to the fake Harp, who denied the obvious setup.
“Wait. I’m sorry, are you — in Trump’s trunk right now?” Fallon asked.
“Oh, don’t be ridiculous. That would be humiliating,” she replied.
Jimmy Fallon questioned the fake Natalie Harp as she denied being inside Donald Trump’s trunk.
The bit kept escalating as the character tried to prove she was not in a trunk by showing off items that only made the denial worse, including a tire pressure gauge, a car jack and antifreeze.
When a pothole jolted the car, Fallon called out the gag directly.
“Pothole?! Clearly, you’re in the trunk,” he said.

A Joke That Already Had an Image
The sketch escalated as the character revealed items found inside a vehicle.
The sketch was built around a CNN report that Harp once jumped into the trunk of an SUV during an October 2023 court appearance after there was no room for her in Trump’s motorcade.
Harp, 35, is Trump’s executive assistant and personal aide. She has drawn increasing attention for her proximity to the president, including reports that she frequently provides him with printed material, from favorable news articles to heartfelt letters, and has been described as his “Human Printer.”
The Devotion Punchline

“That’s so unfair,” fake Harp replied. “What are you going to accuse me of next? Hiding under his bed while he sleeps and gently whispering love poetry so quietly that he thinks it’s just the wind, but I know what I’m saying, I know exactly what I’m saying and I mean every word. Every single word.”
The line cracked Fallon up. He buried his face in his hands before the sketch ended with another pothole and one more laugh from the host.
