'He Still Seems Nowhere Near Proposing': Jonathan Scott Being Pushed By His Twin Brother Drew To Pop The Question To Girlfriend Zooey Deschanel, Spills Source
Put a ring on it already! A pal says Drew Scott is pushing his twin brother, Jonathan, to hurry up and pop the question to his girlfriend, Zooey Deschanel.
The Property Brothers star hooked up with the New Girl alum, 41, in 2019, "but he still seems nowhere near proposing," the friend dishes.
“Drew’s worried he could end up losing her, especially now that she’s surrounded by a ton of eligible bachelors [as host of The Celebrity Dating Game]." But Jonathan, whose 2007 marriage to airline scheduler Kelsy Ully crashed and burned after just two years, "is leery about getting hitched again, even though he and Zooey are doing great and he gets along fabulously with her kids [Charlie, 4, and Elsie, 5, with ex Jacob Pechenik]," notes the pal.
Drew, who wed creative director Linda Phan, 36, in 2018, "couldn’t be happier with married life, and he wants the same for Jonathan," the friend adds. "He would hate for Zooey to be the one who got away just because Jonathan is too slow to commit!"
Jonathan addressed the topic back in November when he appeared on SiriusXM’s Covino and Rich, dispelling rumors of a proposal after being quizzed with the same question in a previous interview.

"I'm like: 'I'm pretty confident that I will ask my girlfriend to marry me before I tell a reporter that I'm going to tell her to marry... my personal life is my personal life and I don't talk about it,'" he said.
The 43-year-old also recalled reading a headline which claimed that his twin brother had given him his "permission" to marry his longtime girlfriend, which the TV personality found quite amusing to read. "We were actually laughing because almost every story that comes out is: 'Drew gives permission for Jonathan to wed Zooey!' or: 'Drew gives his nod to the relationship!'" he said.
Although he may be dragging his feet when it comes to marriage, the HGTV star isn't hiding his affection for his lady love. Back in January, he posted the sweetest message for Deschanel in honor of her 41st birthday.
"Today is my favorite person’s birthday," Jonathan wrote. "You are caring, talented, hilarious, sweet and just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. I know we can’t celebrate like we did last year, but I have a few surprises up my sleeve. You fill my life with so much joy."
The pair met in September 2019 while filming Carpool Karaoke and instantly hit it off. They went Instagram official the following month after a Halloween-themed double date with Drew and his wife. Jonathan posted a picture of the 500 Days Of Summer actress in his arms after they survived Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, Calif.
