Justin Timberlake Is 'Relieved People Know He Is Friendly' With Janet Jackson Following Super Bowl Wardrobe Malfunction, Source Spills
Justin Timberlake wants to put the past behind him.
As previously reported by OK!, Janet Jackson addressed her infamous wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Super Bowl in her new documentary, Janet Jackson. Despite the aftermath, she revealed she is good friends with the "Cry Me A River" crooner. "I have moved on and it is time for everyone else to do the same," she maintained.
An insider told HollywoodLife that the former NSYNC member was "relieved" about Jackson's revelation, as: "He was tired of hearing about it and having to answer questions about it."
"He is so relieved that people know that he is friendly with Janet. [It] makes things so much easier for all the people who are talking about it negatively," the source added. "He finally feels that he won’t have to walk on broken glass anymore."
"It was so long ago, yet it still is something very painful for him, and he imagines for Janet, too," the source reportedly continued to explain. "But Justin has nothing but love and respect for Janet and they have become close."

The insider went so far as to insist the "Scream" singer is like a sister to Timberlake, who has apparently always been open to collaborating with her.
"She contacted him prior to revealing the update and he was absolutely on board. He was glad to hear that she was addressing everything and hopefully put it to an end," the source explained of Jackson's last minute decision to record a segment about Timberlake for her documentary.
Another source told the publication Timberlake understands his past is a "topic of interest," as he issued a public apology last year to Jackson and Britney Spears, whom he dated from 1999 until 2002. At the time, he took accountability for the times he "contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right."
The source also told the outlet that Timberlake is looking forward to the future now that Jackson has spoken out and Spears' conservatorship has been terminated. The In Time star is, "really looking forward to the moment where he can do new music, do new films and when he is talking about his life, he can talk about the great things that are happening in it rather than harping on controversy."
