Kathy Griffin Claims the Country Needs an 'Impossible' Amount of Work to Fix Under Trump Administration: 'We Have to Stick Together'

Kathy Griffin didn't mince her words when she expressed how she felt about the United States under Donald Trump's administration.

"I know it seems like an impossible amount of work we have to do to turn this s--- show back into a functioning country, but we can do it," Griffin, 65, captioned a photo shared via Instagram on Monday, August 10.

The comedian urged Americans to "really stick together. We are not going to agree on every little thing. ❤️🙏❤️."

In the photo, the My Life of the D-List star took a moment to rest on a plush armchair as she stared outside floor-to-ceiling windows. She wore a black long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans, with her signature red hair in bouncy waves.

Many of Griffin's 880,000 followers agreed with her, sharing their reactions in the comments section.

"You’re doing the work, Kathy! You do not waiver and when you point fingers. it’s concise and you know what you’re talking about," one follower wrote.

A second added, "What a mess Trumpscum has put the American people in — the economy is tanking!!!! Be scared 😱."

"You were absolutely right from the beginning about this demon," a third wrote. "You speak the truth. And I’m there standing with ya. ❤️."

Griffin has never been shy about sharing disdain for President Trump, as in 2017, she shared a video of herself holding a mask that was made to look like his severed, b----- head.

After receiving major backlash, she deleted the photo and apologized. "Like many edgy works of artistic expression, the photo could be interpreted different ways. But Griffin never imagined that it could be misinterpreted as a threat of violence against Trump. That was never what she intended," her attorney stated at the time. "She has never threatened or committed an act of violence against anyone."

Despite her remorse, Griffin was dropped from CNN's New Year's Eve coverage and other sponsorships. She also had the remainder of her tour dates canceled and was investigated by the Secret Service.

Years later, Griffin revealed she stood behind sharing the 2017 video while defending her past controversial actions during her ongoing "New Face, New Tour."

She argued the move was "ahead of its time" and expressed fear for other comedians, believing Trump, 80, will "pick us off, one by one."
