Amicable Exes? Katie Holmes Congratulates Former Flame Emilio Vitolo Jr. On New Film Despite Their Recent Split
No hard feelings here! Katie Holmes took to Instagram on Tuesday, June 8, to congratulate ex-boyfriend Emilio Vitolo Jr. on their new short film Almost A Year, which premieres at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, despite their recent parting of ways.
The 42-year-old actress shared four stills from the film along with a caption that read, "I am so excited for the start of the @tribecafilmfestival today!!!!! I am so honored to have been a part of the making of ALMOST A YEAR which is premiering at #Tribeca2021 as part of #TribecaAtHome tickets and more details on the @Tribeca websight [sic]."
She continued,"Congratulations to the very talented and amazing cast @eveclindley @emiliovitolo @lilmitz_ and director @jamiesonbaker 🍾💫💥✨." Vitolo Jr., 33, even lovingly commented a row of heart-eye emojis under the post.
Almost A Year is a film that takes place during the COVID-19 pandemic and follows the "overlapping routines of three New Yorkers." The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday, June 9. Holmes acted as producer, and Vitolo starred as the film's leading man.

Holmes' sweet shoutout comes two months after the former couple decided to pump the breaks on their whirlwind relationship of seven months. According to sources close to the Dawson's Creek star, things with the restaurateur were "moving too fast" and she felt that “something didn’t seem right.” OK! learned that the mother-of-one "dumped him."
But all is well that ends well because a source recently told OK! that Holmes is "ready to move on" and is hoping to move out to the West Coast to start focusing more on directing and dating someone with a similar lifestyle.
"[Katie] likes the idea of relocating to Hollywood, where it will be easier to date someone who she knows isn't in it for the fame," dished the insider. "She loves the city and plans to keep her residence there, but she wants to be where the action is and show people what she's got."
The PDA-loving pair parted ways in April with a rep for Holmes confirming the split in May. A source later revealed that their “relationship fizzled,” adding: “Katie and Emilio really enjoyed their time together — it just simply didn’t work out.”
