The 42-year-old was seen out and about on Wednesday, September 22, before meeting up with a mysterious man in the West Village.
Holmes — who split from boyfriend Emilio Vitolo Jr. in May — rocked a black-and-white polka dot top paired with a pair of bootcut jeans. The guy she was photographed with wore a deep red pant with a jean button up top along with a cap and a backpack. The two appeared to be deep in conversation as the Dawson's Creek star smiled and reached for something in her bag.
After the mother-of-one met up with her pal, Holmes headed to the Lucille Lortel Theatre to catch a show, now that Broadway shows are back up and running.
The Kennedys After Camelot actor's day out comes after it was revealed that she has a unique friendship with her former spouse Tom Cruise's other ex-wife, Nicole Kidman.

A source exclusively told OK! in August, “They shared a very unique experience. Nicole knew firsthand how difficult it was to walk away from Tom and the stress that comes with being married to such a huge star.”
Since the two Hollywood powerhouses went through similar experiences splitting with the Scientologist, talking about what they went through brought them together: “Nicole finally felt free to say her piece. She grew a lot in the years since her split from Tom and was no longer afraid of being silenced by the church.”
For Holmes, Kidman having been there for her meant the world: “She has a lot of respect for Nicole as one of the best actresses of her generation and also as a compassionate and impressive human being."
Although the two reside on separate coasts, the source stated that their bond has remained strong. “They may not hang out together but they have each other’s backs," the insider claimed.
