Kelly Clarkson is feeling burned out by showbiz and looking for a new home to escape the pressures and stress of the spotlight, shares a friend.
The talk show host and The Voice coach, 39, “has been working nonstop and is at her wit’s end,” the pal explains. “L.A. has never been her favorite place, and she’s ready to pack her bags.”
The singer, who shares children River Rose, 7, and Remington, 5, with ex-hubby Brandon Blackstock, sold her Nashville mansion and can’t retreat to her Montana ranch, where the talent manager, 45, is still holed up.
“Kelly has always loved the scenic coast of Northern California and has been looking at property around Carmel, where she’s already met a ton of people,” says the friend, noting that the singer gifted The Boys and Girls Club in nearby Monterey with a thousand laptops for Christmas.
“Carmel would be the perfect escape whenever she needs to get away from Hollywood,” the friend continues. “A hideaway overlooking the sea sounds like heaven.”

As Clarkson and Blackstock's grueling divorce settlement proceedings continue to gradually slow down, sources say the "Because of You" singer isn't only looking forward to ditching Southern California for a brand new home, but she also can't wait to party hard for her 40th birthday coming up in April.
"She feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders and really wants to celebrate big time," an insider close to the talk show host spilled to OK!. "She's thinking Fiji or Hawaii, unlimited mai tais and paddleboard lessons with a handsome instructor."
The friend added: "Kelly is thrilled that this nightmare with Brandon is finally winding down — and she can't wait to cut loose."
The former flames tied the knot in 2013, and Clarkson filed for divorce in 2020 due to "irreconcilable differences," which allegedly included her belief that Blackstock was with her for her money.
