Kelly Ripa recently made a confession about how she handles spending money in her 30-year relationship with her husband, Mark Consuelos.
During the Friday, August 21, episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, the co-hosts discussed the growing trend of couples choosing to keep separate bank accounts.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos discussed the topic of 'financial infidelity.'
On the show, Ripa and Consuelos spoke about how it’s becoming more and more common for couples to keep two separate bank accounts, rather than combining their assets when they get married.
Consuelos, 55, expressed potential concerns that could arise when keeping completely separate finances from a partner, including bills accidentally getting missed and "financial infidelity."
'I'm Never Forthcoming About That'

Kelly Ripa confessed she makes up 'a story' that she thinks her husband 'will find palatable.'
The Riverdale actor then read off the definition of the term, which means "when one partner is not forthcoming about where the money is going."
Ripa, also 55, quipped, "I'm never forthcoming about that."
"Right. I just assume it's going," Consuelos joked.
"I always make up a story [about where the money is going] that I think you will find palatable," the mother-of-three continued. "I know you assume that it's going, but I always fudge where it's going and how it's going. You know, you don't need to know."

'I Have a Story Ready'

Mark Consuelos told Kelly Ripa she doesn't need the story because he never asks 'any questions.'
Consuelos responded, "I don't ask any questions."
"No, you don't. But if you were, I have a story ready," Ripa added, as the audience broke out in laughter.
Consuelos simply shrugged and said, "Alright, you don't need it," seemingly unbothered by her candid confession.
However, the Hope & Faith actress was relentless and insisted, "In case you ever ask a question, I have a full story totally prepared. So, you won't even know it's a story. It's gonna fly off my tongue seamlessly. Go ahead, ask me something."
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos Discussed Spending Money Before

Mark Consuelos claimed his kids should make their 'own pile' of money instead of inherit his and Kelly Ripa's.
On the Monday, August 24, episode of Live, Ripa and her husband discussed spending habits, with Consuelos confessing he doesn't feel obligated to save their cash for their three children: Michael, Lola and Joaquin.
"Have you heard of the ski trend?" Ripa asked Consuelos.
He inquired, "What's that?"
"It's changing how Baby Boomers travel," his wife continued. "The ski trend is not skiing. It's called spending your kids' inheritance," as the audience laughed.
Consuelos quickly jumped in, "Oh, yeah. I like that."
Ripa added, "As a result, a growing number of travelers are embracing the spend your kids' inheritance travel trend instead of giving it to their kids. They're like, 'the h--- with this.'"
"Make your own pile," Consuelos declared.
