Kylie Jenner Sparks Controversy With Creepy New 'Nightmare On Elm Street' Makeup Collab
Kylie Jenner has given her fans a fright with her new spooky makeup line.
The beauty mogul teased her new Kylie Cosmetics collab for the Halloween season — and it has some followers creeped out.
On Tuesday, October 5, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum posted the gorey content all over her social media to announce the new collaboration with the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
“ahhh what a DREAM to collaborate with the icon of horror!,” she captioned her posts for the announcement, which revealed the new products, including a lip trio, eyeshadow pallet, false lashes and jelly cheek stain.
While some fans were excited about the new spooky-season inspired products, some people couldn’t help but notice the freaky nature of the new promos.
What caught her followers’ attention the most was her getup for the photoshoot, which included a full-body suit made to look like burned flesh inspired by the “icon” Freddy Kruegar.
Instagram users in the comments fired off jokes, with many saying that the outfit looked more like a piece of “raw meat” or something that goes in a CrockPot.
Others also used the opportunity to poke fun at her recently released swimwear line which got slammed by consumers for bad quality.
“You know what else was a nightmare? That swim line,” one user quipped in the comments section.

Another said: “I hope it’s better than the swimwear.”
But the real controversy seemingly revolved around the horror character himself, as Freddy Kruegar plays a questionable villain in the original film that the line is based off of.
Users in the comments called Jenner out on trying to portray a character known to be a “child predator.”
One person wrote: “You do know Freddy Kruegar was a child molester right?”
Someone on Twitter criticized the reality star for centering the collection around “a character who was burned alive because he murdered children.”
Other users didn’t take a liking to the line for other reasons, including that the TV personality has nothing to do with the horror film industry.
“Such a shame to ruin a great franchise...with this mess...blah,” one user wrote on Twitter, while another called the whole thing “f**king horrible.”
It wasn’t all bad, though. Jenner’s sister Khloé Kardashian took to the comments section to congratulate her sister, writing: “My Halloween queen.” and “You are a living legend!!!!!”
